It's April and all of us keep on being reminded that "time waits for no man."

Keeping that in mind, let's do our best and do MORE for AUSCI.

Our BNI-AUSCI platinum card is on track for a mid-2011 release, and we hear that BNI is going to issue a half-page ad in Kompas to announce their affinity cards programs, with Trojans as the "keynote" card. A most important feature of this card will be, for every charge made (no extra charge to user), a small percentage will go to our Cerdas Bang! program (50 libraries in impoverished Indonesian high schools by 2015). So please get ready to "charge-on!" :)

Speaking of the Trojan Family, we know it's a global network, and on October 13-15, 2011, our alma mater will host the USC Global Conference in Hong Kong, with Thomas Friedman as one of the keynote speakers. Let's plan on attending this Conference as an AUSCI group, and network with fellow alumni from all over the world. Please SAVE the DATE.

In the SUMMER (June-July 2011), our alma mater (through the Marshall School of Business) will send USC students on internship programs all over the world, with a group of them coming to Indonesia! If you are keen to have FREE interns (USC students) at your company, please contact Novita (terms & conditions apply, and limited time and number).

We are also planning a USC REUNION event (led by Sigit Soelistio and William Gomez) in Jakarta somewhere in the Fall of this year. In addition, there will be a possible AUSCI Bike/Run event, planned for September/October (led by Bobby Setyadi and Bambang Suwarso).

As you can see, AUSCI is keeping busy in 2011.

I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the “fighting spirit” of my fellow Trojans at the Committee. To my predecessor Pak Husodo and the soon-to-be-official AUSCI Endowment Fund, my fellow committee and friends Andru, Bambang, Djoko, Frans, Hendra, Jefry, Patricia, Robby, Pak Rudyan, Tau Young, Vanessa, Vonny, and Wilson, for keeping us active. And our future leaders: Albert, Adrian, Sigit, William, and Bobby.

With YOUR (yes, YOU), AUSCI can and will live up to our motto: the Network of Excellence, for Indonesia and beyond!

Fight On!

PS: I have just written a book titled "My PSP - Pilar Scorecard Pribadi" (BIP/Gramedia, ISBN # 9790745524, HARD-cover, 160 pages, Rp.69,500). Please check out the book's fan page at Facebook: www.facebook.com/pilarsaya (so far it has 1,688++ "likes" / fans). The book is available at all Gramedia bookstores nationwide. Cheers.

Could your firm use a bright, dedicated USC Marshall undergraduate student intern in June and July, 2011?

10 to 12 well-qualified USC Marshall students are eager to learn about and contribute to Indonesian businesses-@ NO financial costs to their sponsor firms!

The USC Marshall School of Business is launching the “Marshall Indonesia Summer Internship Program” in 2011. The goal of this program is to provide students with an in-depth international internship experience with Indonesian firms and foundations, which are led by prominent USC Marshall alumni and Friends in Jakarta.

Students who are selected for MISIP 2011 will spend 2 (two) amazing months (June and July) gaining invaluable work and cultural experience outside of the U.S. Students selected to participate in the program will be provided a stipend of about $3,500, which will cover their economy class air ticket, rent for reasonable and secure housing, and meals. MISIP interns are not required to enroll in a USC class, nor will USC charge any fees, other than International Insurance (no program fees).

The internship sponsors and AUSCI, the “Alumni of USC in Indonesia” will help participants find housing in a safe and secure section of Jakarta. AUSCI is the most vibrant and active U.S. alumni club in Indonesia http://www.ausci.org. AUSCI’s leadership is committed to bringing the 2011 MISIP students into its tightly-knit family, immediately upon their arrival in Jakarta.
