Dear fellow Trojans and Friends,

2013 will come to a closure soon. Throughout the year, there's been the good and the bad. Amongst the latter would be the passing of one of the greatest leaders the world has ever seen, the late Nelson Mandela. He once said:

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."

As alumni of USC, we understand how important education is. We also understand that education doesn't stop when we graduate from USC. This is one of AUSCI's missions, to provide continued (informal) educational opportunities to Trojans in Indonesia, through our Trojan Talks Series (TTS), and networking sessions, through which the Trojan family can learn from one another.

AUSCI is doing well and we are in the process of regenerating our leadership.
My fellow members of the AUSCI committee and I believe that it is time for the post year 2000 Trojans to take lead at AUSCI. If you are reading this and you would like to be part of AUSCI's new leadership, please e-mail me or Novita and share your thoughts/planned participation.

Next year in July 2014 at AUSCI Board Meeting, I will officially pass on the Presidential seat to my successor. I will continue my involvement in AUSCI in an advisory role, to help ensure a smooth transition and keep things on track.

In 2014, we will have a series of great events for all Trojans. We will have the honour of welcoming President Max Nikias for the first time in Jakarta on Feb 26. Dr. Richard Drobnick also invites many Indonesian Trojans to join him at the Biennial Pac-Rim Business Forum in Myanmar, Oct 16-18. Other signature events of AUSCI will continue to complete our productive 2014 calendar, and last but not least next year we will host our 5-star event, the 2014 AUSCI BALL (see more info on the appended bullets below).
So let the years change, and time will take its course, the Trojan Family is here to stay, not only in Indonesia but worldwide.

Let me take this opportunity to wish you and loved ones a most blessed Christmas, and a Healthy Happy New Year 2014.

Fight On!
Holip Soekawan.
